Xfinity App not working on Firestick I have a couple of TVs with Amazon Firesticks for streaming. As of October 2025 (probably after software updates), the Xfinity Stream app does not work anymore. For live channels, the app keeps buffering and does not show any content. For recordings, it does not play any of them.
The Xfinity stream app always loses the "handshake" required to permit the stream to be displayed if the TV is turned off, or if too much time elapses since the Firestick was restarted (even if the TV is left on.) Seems like a security software problem with the Xfinity app for Firestick. Maybe the Xfinity stream app for Roku is better?
Does anyone recommend a better option (a Roku or Firestick or something) instead of the builtin TV app, especially one that might have numbers on the remote? Have you found it as fast or almost as fast as the actual cable box?
Yes I have. Narrowed it down to using any app on the firestick that requires an Xfinity login. Xfinity stream obviously but yesterday NBC had the same issue. ESPN does if I use the Xfinity login (to watch something on espn or espn2), but espn+ never drops WiFi and espn+ is unrelated to Xfinity.
Xfinity Stream app on recently installed FireStick on Samsung TV not showing all channels (only TV go channels) and recording library from DVR. Fire stick tv is on home network like 2 other devices (Fire TV and iPhone) that are working fine.
Unplugging the firestick works, but the problem comes back. It's random, sometimes several times a day, sometimes non. I'm wondering if there is a momentarily hickup in the internet or wifi connection and the xfinity app on the firestick gets into a stuck phase.

The Xfinity Stream app on Amazon Firestick says it needs to be updated but won’t update via the normal Firestick process; instead, it sends the screen to the silk browser for an update that is incompatible.
